Race Description: The starting line of the race
route will be located on Jordan Street
adjacent to the Skaneateles Fireman Field Days. Runners will go
south a
short distance and turn right onto West Austin Street and go down
a small
gradual hill and then turn right again and head north on Fennell
Street which is flat.
For the first portion of the race route, the
roads will be closed to vehicular traffic
so runners will have the
entire road to negotiate the turns. Runners then cross
over Old Seneca
Turnpike onto Mill Road before turning onto the
“Charlie Major
Nature Trail”.
The trail is basically flat and shaded and follows
the Old Skaneateles Short Line Railroad bed. There will be
an aid station located there.
After traveling 7/10ths of a mile on the trail, runners emerge back
onto the
pavement and cross onto Railroad Street in Mottville and
then turn right
onto Miller Street. After traveling a short distance, runners return
to
Jordan Road and head in a southerly direction. Runners will go up
a small
hill out of the hamlet of Mottville and will have a second aid station
available. The last mile is flat and fast and will end back at the
Skaneateles Fireman Field Days.
T-shirts and goodie bag to each participant.
Race Packet Pick-up: 3 – 7pm on Friday, August
29th, 2008 at the
